New piece for string quartet by Sami Klemola – World Premiere + San Fedele Academy for young composers 2012 – reruns

A new string quartet by Sami Klemola is commissioned and premiered at the Time of Music Festival in Finland, before rerun concerts organised in other European countries. The German Sonar Quartett will perform the concert.

The programme includes also works created in the frame of San Fedele Academy for young composers, where eleven young composers under the age of 35 chosen by the San Fedele Academy  worked together during several months attending the master-classes of the composers Helmut Lachenmann, Johannes Schöllhorn, Ivan Fedele, Alessandro Solbiati and Stefano Gervasoni with the aim of creating a new musical work for string quartet inspired by Dante’s Divine Comedy. In Viitasaari Time of Music we will hear works from Vito Zuraj, Aurélien Dumont and Vittorio Montalti.
