Opus XXI 2013, Summer academy for composers and performing art projects

08/2013 OPUS XXI / HfMT – DE

Cultural Innovation needs open space that facilitates experimentation, improvisation and the encounter with different aesthetics. The summer academy Opus XXI 2013 provides such an open space for young composers and instrumentalists. It is a «mobile academy» that takes place in the Chartreuse de Villeneuve d’Avignon (France) this year. A group of postgraduate students (Instrumentalists and Composer) are working together with a distinguished «Composer in residence» and an experienced «Ensemble for New Music». The daily workshops are complemented by lectures in Improvisation, Composition Masterclass, Conducting , Analysis and Career Training.

In addition to discovering and to practising the repertoire, the academy from 21st to 30th August at the Chartreuse de Villeneuve d’Avignon in France allows young musicians the close cooperation with composers of different generations, cultural backgrounds and various aesthetics.
