Sławomir Mrożek’s absurd one-act play titled ‘Out at Sea’ inspired the idea to provide an opportunity for young composers to jointly create an opera (three singers and four instruments) where each character will be created by a different composer. To begin their several months of creative process, the applicants will take part in a workshop, supervised and guided by the professors –discussing and deciding about the potential options allowed by the libretto, dramaturgy and composition technique.

Two versions of the opera will be premiered in Budapest on 19th December 2013.

Further performances of the opera are scheduled for 2014 in Milano (IT), Paris (FR) and later on (2015) also in Belgium and Latvia.
